Books

With an audacious goal to publish ten books by the end of the 2020, here are the projects on tap from Virginia–check in periodically to see how much she’s producing!

Doing Dishes (08-2020)

Doing Dishes is a semi-autobiographical collection of thirty rhyming and free-verse love poems, offering a look at love in the 21st century.

The speaker starts off as many of us: idealistic, romantic, naive. However by the end, through experiencing a love of her own, our speaker comes to a deeper understanding of what love might really be: not one hue, but a complete spectrum. Joyful, sad, lively, serious, silly, and tender, love is rarely as easy or simple as we first believe.

Available in color paperback, trade paperback, and on Amazon as well.

Henry the Hummingbird & Emma May (11-2020)

In collaboration with artist & architect Michi Aman Sanderson, Henry the Hummingbird and his honeybee best-friend Emma May come to life. Bird and bee wish to flit and fly around their garden-home without a care…but their fear of the resident gardener is holding them back.

Illustrated in beautiful hand-painted watercolor, this children’s book is perfect for nature-lovers and brown-thumbers alike. Featuring a rhyming story, Henry the Hummingbird & Emma May are sure to make an impression on little one’s minds.  The bonus plant glossary in the back of the book may just spur on some flower scavenger hunting around your neighborhood or local botanic garden.

Virginia loves working one-on-one and in small teams and is happiest with a project in front of her. Here’s some books she’s worked on previously!

Lavender’s Vegan in a Weekend by Sami “Chef Lavender” Pollak

Sami’s first cookbook was a beautiful to put together. From being able to work with Sami’s dance-ful spirit and taste each dish myself, Lavender’s Vegan in a Weekend was an absolute delight!

Available on veganinaweekend.com and in e-book from on Amazon.

Brainfood Kitchen Does Lunch

This was my first foray into the world of cookbooks and it was a learning experience for sure! All turned out well in the end with a neat little book packed with recipes that are good for your brain–and all plant-based and gluten-free. Plus the science behind eating for a smarter brain is included too!
